Bodies change.
Stress changes. Work changes. Activity changes. Sleep changes. And the area that bothered you last month may not be what needs attention today.
That's why massage at Natural Luminance isn't built around a rigid, identical routine.
At the beginning of your appointment, we'll briefly discuss how you're feeling and where you're holding tension. Your session is then adjusted using the techniques, pressure and areas of focus that make sense for you that day.
Personalized care, without making you choose from a long list of techniques or add-ons.

Clients are given the option to remove articles of clothing down to their comfort level. If stretching is desired during your session, you may be asked to wear comfortable, loose clothing to keep you in a state of relaxation and feeling safe during that part of your service. However, each client is appropriately draped at all times no matter what level of clothing they remove.
Your massage service is fully customizable. You will be asked what pressure of massage you prefer before your first massage service. If that preference changes and needs to be adjusted during your service, or any subsequent services, you should communicate that feedback with your service provider immediately.
The answer to that question depends on your availability and what type of massage best fits your needs. A 60-minute is great for clients looking for relaxation, someone just wanting to target a specific area, or you'd prefer a full-body Swedish massage. While a 90-minute therapeutic session is best for clients looking for deeper work to address discomfort and persistent tension or mobility issues.
The answer to that question varies per client and is based on individual needs. If the service is for nervous system support, relaxation and maintenance, once a month is typically recommended for most clients. If you're experiencing pain and discomfort due to repetitive movement at work, joint inflammation, fascial adhesions, soft tissue injury or are seeking help to fix postural concerns resulting in restrictive movement, you may be advised to come back weekly or bi-weekly until you experience consistent relief through both therapeutic massage sessions and the application of your recommended at-home care plan.
The difference is true Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is not considered massage. The two techniques are not comparable. However, they both have wonderful benefits and can be combined if you are seeking help with slight swelling of the ankles or limbs, needing assistance with nervous system down regulation, or support with overall body detoxification. I would be happy to introduce you to MLD during your massage service when requested.
